Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about our prints, editions, framing and delivery. Can't find your answer? Write to info@universemuseum.lt.

Are these real telescope images?

Yes. Every work reproduces a published scientific image from the James Webb Space Telescope (NASA, ESA, CSA) or the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. We crop and colour-manage each image for print; nothing is added, removed or generated. Full credits are on every product page and on our Image Credits page.

What is the difference between Fine Art and Poster?

Fine Art is a pigment print on Felix Schoeller True RAG Silk Satin 310 g/m² paper, issued as a numbered edition of 50 per size with a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Poster is a pigment print on Felix Schoeller True Photo Glacier 300 g/m² paper in an open edition, sent with a card that tells the story of the image.

What does a numbered edition mean?

Each Fine Art edition is limited to 50 numbered prints per size, plus 5 artist's proofs. When an edition sells out, it is closed for good: the work is never printed again in that size and paper. Framing does not change the edition of a print.

Can I choose my edition number?

Yes. On the product page you can take the next available number or choose one of the free numbers offered — a date, an anniversary, a lucky number — at no extra charge.

Which sizes are available?

50 × 50, 50 × 70 and 74 × 99 cm; horizontal works are offered as 70 × 50 and 99 × 74 cm. A few works are not offered at the largest size because the source image does not have enough resolution. Each size is composed for its own proportions: we crop, but never stretch.

Can I order a framed print?

Yes, at 50 × 50 and 50 × 70 cm. Either edition can be framed in a slim black frame with shatter-resistant acrylic glazing, ready to hang.

How can I see a print on my wall before ordering?

Use “View on your wall” on any product page. On a phone it uses augmented reality to place the print on your wall at its real size; you can also see the work in a room setting.

Where and how are the prints made?

Every work is printed to order in our studio in Kaunas, Lithuania, on an Epson SureColor P20500 with UltraChrome PRO12 pigment inks, then checked, trimmed, mounted and framed by hand. Orders are dispatched within 5–7 business days.

Where do you ship and how much does it cost?

We ship to 24 countries of the European Union — all EU countries except Bulgaria, Croatia and Malta. Framed works ship free. Unframed prints cost €5.90 to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and €14.90 to other EU countries, and ship free on orders of €150 or more. Within the EU there are no customs duties or import fees.

How long does delivery take?

After dispatch, tracked delivery usually takes 1–3 business days within the Baltic states and 3–6 business days to other EU countries. You receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves the studio.

How are prints packed?

Unframed prints are rolled in a rigid protective tube. Framed works travel flat in a reinforced box, with the acrylic glazing protected.

Can I return a print?

Yes. Consumers may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason; the direct cost of the return is yours. Works made to your individual specification cannot be returned. Details are in our Refund Policy.

What if my print arrives damaged?

Keep the packaging and email photos of the package and the work to info@universemuseum.lt as soon as possible. We will remake and resend it at no cost to you.
